Getting Started

First-time setup

  1. 1

    Install the app

    Download The Tanpura on the App Store or Google Play. The first launch sets up the audio engine.

  2. 2

    Allow audio

    Make sure your device is not muted. The app uses native audio so it sounds the same on every device.

  3. 3

    Pick your Sa

    Open the Tanpura tab, tap the pitch, and choose any chromatic note from C to B. You are ready to practice.
